Your Sound
J Majik [Metalheadz]
17 April, 2008 | 7.58AM- Section: Music Reviews
Way before his ‘Space Invaders’ remix that turned the world on to his filtered style (a progression from his 174 BPM experiments with vocalist Kathy Brown), J-Majik was fucking about in the studio en route to his first ever anthem.
‘Your Sound’, like most old jungle tunes, was an epic journey across a rugged, druggy soundscape and was centred upon bruising beats, not melodies.
The amens in this track are ton heavy, and really do damage to any self-respecting dance floor.
Which is better? The original? Or the hi-octane remix released years later on Grooverider’s record label that was backed by that particular DJ’s remix of ‘Kemistry’?
Let us know in the comments section; and please post your respects to DJ Grooverider who is currently locked up in a Dubai jail for the most ridiculous minor offense.
