Every now and again when digging through the plethora of tracks in existence, you stumble across one of those undiscovered gems, a masterpiece that often slips through the cracks. ‘Young Heartache’ is certainly one of those tracks.

After a shady tip off from a certain Dutch dubstep producer, I investigated further into this new up and coming London-based producer and acquired the track ‘Young Heartache’, an LA-styled, electro hip-hop, psychedelic offering.

Originally released last year on the One Handed Music label, Bullion has recently come to light through his remix of Tricky’s ‘Slow’. And with exposure to the label accumulating, thanks to much loved BBC radio DJ Mary Ann Hobbs, this promises to be a good year for him.

Focusing around a simple folk sample, the track is cut up, spliced and re-edited with some leftfield beats and psychedelic effects that produce a coherent and elaborate modern take on hip-hop.

Could this be a young Flying Lotus in the making?
