Xone:3D now offers Ableton Live 6 support
12 March, 2007 | 3.44AMDigital DJs have been pissing themselves with excitement this week, with the news that Allen & Heath’s groundbreaking Xone:3D MIDI mixer now works with software program Ableton Live 6.
Allen & Heath’s mixer, which enables DJs to control and mix digital music files on a computer using traditional DJing and mixing methods, has been at the forefront of the digital DJ revolution since its launch last April.
The Xone:3D has been adopted by a number of the world’s top DJs including Paul van Dyk, John Digweed, Chris Liebing, and Ralph Lawson.
It is considered to be one of the most advanced mixers the world has ever seen. It’s also a hell of a lot of fun.
The fact that the Xone:3D now works properly with Ableton Live 6 is a major breakthrough, as Live 6 has tons of new features for producers and DJs including multicore and multiprocessor support, instrument and effect rack presets, macro controls and something called deep freeze (which is handy for cooling your beers presumably).
Ableton Live 6 also has a few sweet new effects to play with including EQ 8 and dynamic tube.
