Do you have a pathological hatred of trailing wires when you’re out and about - the dreaded digital spaghetti?
Then scope the MX W1 - the latest Sennheiser headphones and a luxury high-technology product for early adopters, available in limited quantities through August - the only portable wireless headphones able to transmit full CD-quality stereo audio.

The MX W1 transmitter
These babies don’t come cheap, but I think Richie Hawtin might be interested.
Here are the bullets:
* Miniature wireless in-ear Hi-fi earphones
* Hi-fi quality digital transmission
* New ‘Kleer’ digital wireless technology
* Robust 2.4GHz digital link
* Unprecedented immunity to interference
* Diversity antenna technology
* No Lip Sync problems with video
* System gives a full days use on one charge
* For iPhone 1G and 3G and all iPods
* Or ANY player with a 3.5mm headphone jack

The MX W1 earbuds
If you’re wondering what “Kleer” technology is, it enables audio transmittance at 2.37MB/s peak bit rate without using any lossy compression, which basically gives you CD quality without wires.
Sennheiser reckons it’s 10 x more efficient than Bluetooth.
Another ridiculous feature is the MX W1’s “Share Music” facility, which can transmit to two pairs of MX W1, enabling two people to listen to the same audio player at the same time.
The MX W1 will appear in late August for £299 in limited retail quantities.
