and Chris Lak obviously aren’t men of many words, judging by the title of this release, which recently nestled tidily at the top of the Beatport electro house download chart.
So what of ‘Word’?
It’s disgustingly good.
Building with all the precision of the current crop of electro house productions – you know, the ones with THAT bass sound and THOSE drums – this part of ‘Word’ will satisfy unwavering purists and evoke responses of ‘OK, just one more time’ from those looking for something different.
How interesting then, that when ‘Word’ drops, it creates something completely and utterly new within the genre of electro house.
Just think ‘Strongbow Tent’ from the UK’s better festivals over the years, and you’re close to the futuristic throwback to funky house we’re prattling on about.
If you miss this download, you’re quite obviously off your rocker.
As for ‘Ghost’, the name behind this uncharacteristically uplifting and 1980s-styled number obviously references one of those friendly ghosts that are stereotyped for the role of kids’ consciences in Saturday-morning cartoons, rather than the angry ones that are haunting your basement as you read this.
Now read 10 other Beatportal reviews or you will be cursed and haunted by the doll from the Child’s Play movies, forever.
