WMC Weapons: Steve Angello

WMC Weapons: Steve Angello

Miami’s WMC kicks off tomorrow and we here at Beatportal are incredibly excited to be able to bring you live updates, interviews and videos from the conference all this week.

Before our live blog officially commences, we decided to enlist the services of one of our favourite DJs Steve Angello [a] in order to grab his thoughts on what records he thinks will be big at the conference.

As one quarter of the Swedish House Mafia, alongside Eric Prydz [a], Axwell [a] and Sebastian Ingrosso [a], Steve Angello has built himself a reputable following of clubbers worldwide addicted to his jacking, uplifting house style.

In this specially extended edition of Weekend Weapons, Steve Angello reveals 10 upfront dancefloor devastators.

1. Steve Angello ‘Isabel’ [SIZE]

This is really simple yet effective, with melodic synths that really do the job for me right now.

This one will be out just before the summer and Ibiza hits, and it’s rocking every party I’m playing at.

2. Sebastian Ingrosso ‘Laktos’ [Refune]

Seb hasn’t done anything solo in a while so I’m really excited about this one.

It’s a true builder that drops into a killer groove and quite frankly, it makes dancefloors explode all over the world.

3. Kim Fai ‘P.O.V.’ (Steve Angello Remix) [SIZE]

I love this track! The original worked so good for me when I played it out that I asked for the parts and then I remixed it before I had even signed it to my label SIZE.

4. Mescal Kid ‘Do You Want It’ [SCI-TEC Digital Audio]

This forthcoming cut from Mescal Kid is a BIG one for me! We put out Mescal Kid’s ‘Magic’ on SIZE last year.

5. Angello, Ingrosso, Axwell & Laidback Luke ‘Leave The World Behind’ [Axtone]

This is a new one from us Swedish House Mafia guys and Laidback Luke. It’s a great summer recorded with a big vocal. Girls love it and so do we!

6. Moguai vs. Ingrosso ‘Still Sittin on Chrome’ [Refune]

Seb freshened up the ‘Sittin On Chrome’ track and has managed to turn it into a BIG one for us.

7. Stephan Bodzin & Marc Romboy ‘Callisto’ [Systematic]

This is beautiful, effective and stinks of Ibizaaaaa.

I can’t wait to get back to the island again this summer and this is going to get couples together for sure.

8. Jerome Isma-Ae ‘Smile When You Kill Me’ [Jee Productions]

This one has to be a big one for Miami.

It’s melodic and has a really long build up until the drop. When it comes in it does its job perfectly.

9. Shinedoe, Innersphere ‘Phunk’ (Steve Angello Re-Edit) [SIZE]

I had to get this ready for the summer and WMC! It’s going to blow people away!

It sounds like the one I did two years ago but I made the break longer, and the impact is a bit bigger when it kicks back in.

10. Angello & Ingrosso feat Pharrell Williams ‘Untitled’

This one is going to be huge we think, as we had the privilege to work with one of the most talented artists in the music business - Pharell Williams.

We still don’t have a title for it yet, but be on the look out for it!
