WMC Weapons… Oscar G.
WMC Weapons… Oscar G.
1 April, 2009 | 3.36AMJust in time to wrap up this past week of glorious electronic music mayhem, this installment of dancefloor slayers comes from Miami’s own Oscar G.
One half of the infamous Murk
production duo and eight-year resident of Miami’s Club Space, Oscar G.
has been an integral cog in the groovin’ wheel for close to two decades.
In a blend of neo-tribal drums, dark and sexy vocals, and melody rich basslines, we heard the damage firsthand during the Nervous Records
afterhours on Saturday night at Nocturnal, where he tore down the house as the sun rose.
Afterward, we grabbed this Miami man and grilled him for his choice cuts—peruse them below.
1. Lazaro Casanova ‘Los Tambores’ [petFood]

Drums, drums and more drums! The Afro-Cuban influence here is palpable and right up my alley.
Laz is doing some great stuff at the moment. He is an up and coming talent from Miami.
I am including this track on my new project on Nervous—it always moves the floor.
Stryke and I have also picked up some stuff from him for our new Three-O-Five Digital label. Keep an ear on this kid.

2. Oscar G ‘Back To You’ [Nervous]
This is my new single with long-time friend and the voice of Funky Green Dogs
, Tamara Wallace. She belts this one out with great emotion.
I don’t usually play much of my own stuff, but this one has been doing the business.
We could use some more SONGS! This one was personal..and she delivered.
3. Stryke ‘Push Me-Pull Me’ [Three-O-Five Digital]

Stryke released my favorite album of last year on Plastic City
. He has been on fire since.
This tech bomb builds and builds, sets the right mood every time. Dark and moody, yet tough and pumping beginning to end.
This is one of those cuts DJs always ask me about when I play out.
