WMC Track: Psycatron ‘Takefive’

WMC Track: Psycatron ‘Takefive’

Whilst much of WMC is about sunshine and summery vibes, the marathon parties and levels of intoxication amongst attendees generates some pretty heated late nights.

There will be an abundance of driving dark house and techno in those wee hours, and you can bet that the devastating peak-time breakdown of Psycatron’s ‘Takefive’ will be heard rattling out of mainroom soundsystems a few times during the conference.

There hasn’t been a larger techno breakdown out this year, at least, not one that is as expertly produced as ‘Takefive’.

The track’s targeted bleeps and precision techno grooves are really just foreplay to its mammoth, incessantly rising synths in the break, that go far and beyond the normal levels of anticipation-inducing euphoria that is generally acceptable on dancefloors.

It’s almost as if Psycatron [a] aka Paul Hamill and Phil Johnston had a look around the world of dance music, scoured the land for the largest breakdown in the history of house or techno, and then said ‘let’s push it just a little bit more’.
