WMC Track: Milton Jackson ‘Ghosts In My Machine’
25 March, 2008 | 3.16PM- Section: Music News Topics: Miami WMC 2008
As our plane touched down in Miami for WMC 2008 just now, the captain welcomed us by announcing it’s 73 degrees outside and beautifully sunny.
As we disembarked, I popped my iPod on ‘random’ and the gorgeous Milton Jackson ‘Ghosts In My Machine’ (from the EP ‘Freerange 100 Part 1’ on Freerange Records) came on.
The record penetrates both the deep house and deep techno ends of the electronic music spectrum, and as I walked through Miami airport it sounded simply awesome - like one of those tracks an art director might use when filming a gritty documentary about life on da streets, in black and white.
When I first heard ‘Ghosts In My Machine’ I didn’t rate it too highly, but the never-ending synth combo just worked wonders for my toe tapping, enough to make me want to take my iPod out of my pocket to find out what the hell was playing.
It would be great to hear the chug of ‘Ghosts In My Machine’ on a club sounsystem down in Miami at some point during WMC, just to see the crowd reaction.
This is a probable Miami WMC 2008 hit, but I need people power before I set it stone.
