WMC: Guy Gerber interview

WMC: Guy Gerber interview

Today is March 1st which means just 23 days to go until Miami’s annual Winter Music Conference kicks off.

To mark the start of our countdown to WMC, Beatportal presents the first in our series of exclusive interviews with artists performing during WMC this year.

With releases on Cocoon Israeli Guy Gerber [a] has the respect of the techno community, but he has also won fans in the prog and trance circles with his epic melodic tracks.

Beatportal caught up with him to find out more about his Miami plans.

Guy Gerber is playing at the Beatport pool party @ The National on Saturday 29th March.

What you cooking for Miami WMC this year?

I will perform live at a few parties and will reveal my new direction for this year, which is going to be more housey.

Even though to define is to limit and I’m always trying to play just what I like.

House is a totally different direction for you. What records will be big for you at WMC?

I’ve just made a new track with Luciano and we don’t have a name for it yet.

I’ll also be playing some of the tracks from the new Loco Dice album, and a new track from David K called ‘West Coast’.

Why is the conference important to electronic music?

Because it’s a chance for everybody to meet each other and to share some contacts and ideas.

And also to show the world how much fun is to be part of this scene that is constantly evolving.

Any weird Miami stories to share?

This year will actually be my first time, but I normally cause trouble almost everywhere I go so you will have to ask me again next year.
