Josh Wink is looking forward to Miami WMC 2008, which kick starts next week.

And rightly so, the annual Winter Music Conference is the premier electronic music event of the year.

Beatportal caught up with Josh Wink to find out what his plans are for Miami WMC 2008.

What moves are you planning for WMC 2008?

Well it is Ovum’s 12th Annual party at WMC and this year we’re doing it with Pokerflat Recordings!

The party is going to be at a dope new club downtown called Vagabond.

There will be two rooms and the line up is me (Josh Wink), Steve Bug, Shlomi Aber, Martin Landsky, Argy and Benny Rodrigues.

You seem pretty excited about WMC 2008.

Well, it’s the only conference (or whatever you want to call it) in the USA for electronic music.

It used to be more about meetings and business, as a lot of European labels would come over.

Unfortunately, those days have past. So, now it’s a good way for Americans to come and listen to a lot of artists/DJs who don’t usually play in the USA.

Fancy sharing any insider tips for a big WMC track for 2008?

I don’t know yet...but, I can bet the new Shlomi Aber, D’Julz and WiNK promos on Ovum will go down really really well as they are all bombs.

What is the funniest/strangest WMC experience you have had?

Well, the usual one is if I don’t have dreads or an afro any more so people don’t recognize me, which I like.

However, as I have a shaved head now, clubs and door people won’t let me in as they don’t believe me when I say I’m josh wink so that’s a bit frustrating.
