Will the real Dmitry Fyodorov stand up?
Will the real Dmitry Fyodorov stand up?
1 March, 2010 | 9.16AMAn ice hockey player named Dmitry Fyodorov mysteriously disappeared after an accident on the ice 30 years ago. He was a successful attacker for CSKA Moscow.
Out of all the things that could have followed for Gaspadin Fyodorov (if indeed he is still alive, God bless), he would surely never have imagined that two punk kids in Sweden would use his name to release wonky minimal techno many decades later.
The duo behind the speaker busters of Dmitry Fyodorov, that have mainly landed on Swedish label Adrian Recordings, for now remain hidden behind their moustached, vodka swigging façade. You’re not fooling anyone boys (actually, they did - we searched for ages for a Russian producer named Dmitry Fyodorov, before realising the futility of it all).
But with an outrageous new video (above), that sees people gobble sloppy foods and chew voraciously to a heavy hitting minimal cut called ‘Simcoe’, and a brilliant debut album ‘Shapeless’ (below) out today, that’s full of bubbly minimal destroyers and creepy techno, we may all soon be wondering what became of the real Dmitry Fyodorov.
