Will Spencer debut release ‘Oceanica’ on Olaris

One of San Francisco’s most beloved underground DJs, Will Spencer, has hit the ground running with his first record release, a remix collection of his beautiful ‘Oceanica’ that surprises and uplifts.

Centered around Will’s production and Royal Sapien’s positive, emotional vocals, the remixes take things to the dancefloor in a mixture sure to please fans of true progressive. 

“A little bit of heads-down, a little bit of hands-in-the-air, and everything in between” is how Mr. Spencer defines his own club taste, and the remixes put together on Olaris Records capture that essence.

Opencloud turn in three gorgeous and unique remixes that feature beautiful pads and classic driving Opencloud beats. Stefan Anion stays true to progressive breaks form with an altogether massive remix with a bassline that could injure the weary. The Royal Sapien interpretations offer a deep house rendition as well as a 2 act progressive house remix, and finally, Ryan Crane remixes “Oceanica” into a techy, progressive breaks piece that will delight crowds looking for tougher beats.

Will responded after hearing all the remixes, “It’s amazing to me that one moment of inspiration can lead to so many other moments of inspiration. To
hear each track, and how each one developed on the theme and also the lyrics is really special.

“And I think all the artists did a great job taking something heartfelt and speaking from their hearts in response, as well. Such a great, solid release overall. I’m very humbled and proud to be a part of it, if you can be both things at once.”

Deviant, founder of Toes In The Sand Recordings, also responded positively upon hearing the remix package. “Olaris has been the progressive label to watch in 2008, following up Royal Sapien’s excellent ‘Everyone’ with this stellar package of remixes of Will Spencer’s ‘Oceanica.’
