Weekend Weapons…Troy Pierce

Weekend Weapons is our new weekly feature in which we hassle the world’s DJ’ing elite into revealing a trio of tracks that were an indispensable part of their weekend maneuvers.

This week’s recruit is Minus’ prince of darkness Troy Pierce whose gigs saw him deployed in Bucharest at Kristal Club on Friday, and link up with his Minus cohorts on Saturday in Amsterdam for the massive Contakt party at The Sand.

Over to Troy…

1.Click Box ‘Everything’ (Unreleased)

Two guys from Brazil I meet a few years ago in Sao Paulo.

Every track from their first EP was huge for me and the new demos are just as good if not better…

Definitely ones to watch.

2.Ryan Crosson ‘Confiteria del Molino’ (Wagon Repair)

I have always liked Ryan’s stuff but this track (and the entire EP) is a bit of a new direction and it’s amazing.

Stripped down house with a horn section is never something I would imagine playing, but the groove is so sick and the vocals so trippy, it’s impossible to deny its effectiveness.

3. Gaiser - ‘Trunkated’ (M-nus)

If you’ve ever thought you might have heard an elephant on the dancefloor, this track is probably the reason.

9:44 minutes of full on Gaiser groove. Super bass mixed with tricky percussion… and then that elephant runs by again.

Awesome track.
