Weekend Weapons…Prok & Fitch

Back at the beginning of the year, we dubbed the duo of Prok & Fitch as one of our Rising Stars for 2010.

Fresh from Miami, where they turned the StealthLIVE! stage upside down, Ben Prok and James Fitch continue to make good on our prediction. They’re bringing pure fire in the form of their new single, ‘The Heat’. Featuring the soulful vocals of Max C, ‘The Heat’ is a stomping house jam that’s got Ibiza peaktime written all over it; it’s backed with a pair of techier remixes from John Dahlback and NICe7 as well as Prok & Fitch’s own ‘Floorplay Remix’, a stripped-back tech-house mover that uses its vocal loops to spine-tingling effect.

It’s just the first installment of what looks to be a busy year for the duo. Fitch rather breathlessly caught us up to date: “We have another EP with Toolroom coming out beginning of May, a new single with Kraak & Smaak on our Floorplay label out next week, a remix for Sultan’s new single on Global Underground, also a remix for an amazing new record we signed from Alex Font on our Floorplay label, we’ve just finished the new Union Jackers single that looks like it’s going to Toolroom as well. We’ve also got a track we did with Guy Williams on the next Stealth battle weapons. Currently working on various exciting collaborations as well as a few new EPs on a more underground tip.” (Whew.)

This has been working the floors for us without fail since the moment we bounced it down. A great little tool to throw other stuff over as well!

Chris Lake feat Nielski, ‘Minimal Life’ [CDR]

We have yet to play this track without someone coming up to the booth to ask what it is… Beast!

Luca Bear & Romano Alfieri, ‘Love U’ [Break New Soil]

We’ve been playing this track for a few months now and it just never fails to get the dancefloor rocking, simple but soooo effective!

Prok & Fitch pres. Nanchang Nancy, ‘Walk With Me’ [Axtone]

We couldn’t get away from this in Miami, we kept hearing it everywhere! Shaping up to be a big one for the summer we hope!

Union Jackers, ‘Yambo’ [CDR]

A year later and the next Union Jackers thing is ready to go. This was our biggest tune in Miami and looks set to be coming out on Toolroom very soon.

Jordy Lishious, ‘8 Bit Is Back’ [Floorplay]

This last release on our label has been getting some amazing DJ support, when Funkagenda dropped it at Space in Miami the place went crazy!

F-Man & FLG, ‘An Old Technique’ [Toolroom]

We can’t get enough of this, such a wicked groove and a really catchy
little vocal hook!

Discojack, ‘Operator (Original Mix)’ [CDR]

This is a perfect example of why it’s worth spending hours trawling though promos. This is a proper weapon for the housey floors!!

Moby, ‘Go (Prok & Fitch Floorplay Booty)’ [CDR]

This has been getting so much hype since we put it up on our MySpace and leaked a few copies to some of the big boys. We’d love to put this out, but looks like it’s not going to happen… Gutted!!

Roger Sanchez, ‘2Gether (Original mix)’ [Stealth]

This has been a great “get out of jail card” at our more commercial gigs recently. Hopefully this will cross over as it’s definitely a great radio track too.
