Weekend Weapons…Muzzaik
10 September, 2009 | 5.22AMHungary duo Muzzaik
are on a mission to conquer the house scene with their tribal-tinged mainroom-friendly productions.
The pair were crowned DJ/producers of 2008 in their home country, and the world is quickly waking up to their talent as their music has been released on some of the most respectable house labels including Azuli, Yoshitoshi, Plastic City, Hed Kandi, King Street, and Tommy Boy.
Roger Sanchez is a big supporter of their work, and the US supremo has had them play regularly at his Stealth Live! events around the world.
With Muzzaik’s profile on the rise, we decided to find out what their current five house bombs are.
Jason Chance ‘Beginning’ (Muzzaik Remix) [Stealth Records]
Jason is a cool guy straight from the new breed of the UK house scene. ‘The Beginning’ is his first track on Stealth Records, and we were asked to do a remix. We made something completely new out of it, and this is the sound that we’re definitely playing at the moment.
Harry ‘Choo-Choo’ Romero ‘King Of Drop’ (Lost Daze Remix) [Dazed Recordings]
If you’re really into house music than you must have heard about Harry Romero. In our opinion, he has been one of the best producers in house for a long time and this track is one of his best this year!
Massive beats, a killer lead theme, and a great vox hook on top! Hands up everybody, “Michael Jackson’s still alive”!
Alex Jones, Glimpse ‘True Friends’ [Kindisch]
This is a great tech house track. We’re spacing out if we play this one in our sets.
Canard, Chris Lauer, Soneec, Belocca ‘Raspberry Mouth’ (Groovenatics Remix) [Nervous Records]
These guys are producing great tracks, and we fell completely in love with this one. It’s a simple and effective house track.
Muzzaik ‘Going Underground’ [Stealth Records]
‘Going Underground’ is getting a little bit old for us now, as we had it waaaay before most DJs, haha, however we’ve played it every gig over the summer and it worked and worked, so well!
