broke dubstep and techno into pieces in 2008, bulldozing the wall in between the two genres with standout tracks that became bricks in a world that now shimmers with futuristic connectivity.
The Dutch producer’s record label 3024
, and his remixes of TRG ‘Broken Heart’ and Flying Lotus ‘RobertaFlack’, helped to mould the trend which became a full marching movement in 2009.
From his home in Washington DC, Martyn revealed his current top three cuts to Beatportal.
Ben Klock ‘Napoleon Hill’ [Ostgut Ton]

What Ben is doing at the moment is the ultimate soundtrack to Berlin for me: it’s tough sounding, stripped down, hard grooves and his ‘Napoleon Hill’ is one of my favourite tracks.
Imagine Berghain, a big and dark space, perfect sound, and raw, hard body-moving techno like this for hours on end.
Make sure you check out his album ‘One’ and the releases on his own Klockworks
label, as well as his equally talented companions Marcel Dettmann
, T++
and of course Shed
.
Martyn ‘Elden St.’ [3024]

One of the more straight 4x4 tracks off my album ‘Great Lengths’, and the one I just love to play out when DJing.
For this debut album I’ve collected a set of tracks that show a wide range of sounds, yet all with a distinct vibe that describes me as a producer and a DJ. It’s built up as sort-of a DJ set, with a highly energetic part, a deeper more stripped down part, and an emotional melodic part - so that you go through different vibes when listening to the album in full. I hope you enjoy the result!
Roska ‘Over the Horizons’ [Roska Kick and Snares]

Very talented London producer Roska has been doing a string of interesting releases over the last six months, with beats somewhere between dubstep, grime and house. ‘Over The Horizons’ is something like Shackleton on 125bpm with a grimey flavour - great track to play out, heavy bassline underneath an array of percussion - one of my current favourites!
