Weekend Weapons…Wolf + Lamb

Weekend Weapons…Wolf + Lamb

Over the last year, everyone from RA to the Miami New Times have trumpeted Wolf + Lamb Music as the most exciting thing to happen to America since Pop-Tarts.

“Wildly imaginative”, “daringly forward-thinking”, “one of the most exciting labels of 2009” - the plaudits have come in thick and fast.

Rather than add to the hyperbole, we thought we’d let Wolf + Lamb’s founders Zev Eisenberg and Gadi Mizrahi highlight some of their favourite dancefloor cuts of the moment, to show what the Brooklyn-based label, DJ collective, and fake hoteliers are all about.

The Whitest Boy Alive ‘1517’ (Morgan Geist Remix)

The bassline of the summer, but unfortunately the rest of the track isn’t as strong, so we always have our next track ready to go.

Matias Aguayo ‘Rollerskate’

The strongest track off Matias Aguayo’s new album. We’ve been slaying dancefloors with this and some of his other tracks like ‘Walter Neff’.

This was one of our most anticipated albums of the year, but he has layered too many of his own latin vocals on the rest of this album in our opinion.

DJ Mujava ‘Township Funk’ (Crazy P Mix)

This is the perfect tool for transitioning from house to disco/funk, what a gem!

No Regular Play ‘Owe Me’

This has been an anthem for us over these last two tours. The crowd goes nuts even if they’ve never heard this one before.

I think the hip hop-like groove and the cool vocals sets this one apart.

Zev ‘Forget The World’

This one is an instant classic, with great vocals from Anthony Beckford, finally out on vinyl!
