Adelaide, Australia’s Sonny Fodera has racked up an impressive discography in just two years, turning out dozens of EPs, compilation tracks, and remixes for the likes of Drop Music, Guesthouse Music, and Nervous Records. Juan MacLean tapped Fodera’s ‘Everybody Get on the Decks’ for his ‘DJ Kicks’ mix earlier this year, suggesting how his take on house is breaking out and crossing over, no matter the hemisphere or the scene.

His ‘Got You on My Mind’ came out this week on Miguel Migs’ Salted Music label, featuring four tracks of deep, jacking, jazzy house with a distinct Chicago/San Francisco influence.

For his Weekend Weapons selection, Fodera gives us a glimpse of his CD wallet, running down cuts from Jamie Jones, Giom, Gorge, and other purveyors of classic house with modern touch.

A really chunky downtempo disco track. It’s good to see the tech guys busting out some stuff like this. I can’t stop listening to this tune!!! Gives me goosebumps.

Giom, ‘Things U Do’ [Lost My Dog]

Another quality tune from Giom. He’s always got that solid deep flavour, works really well on the dancefloor.

Cassius, ‘99 (Tim Green Remix)’ [Cassius]

The old classic coming back. Tim Green is one of my favourite producers at the moment, this remix smashes it!!

Mastiksoul, ‘Capotagem’ [4Kenzo Recordings]

I have always loved what Mastiksoul does, this tune is a late set banger for me.

DJ Sneak, ‘Colors’ [Guesthouse Music]

Nice jacking tune from Sneak.

Thyladomid, ‘The Voice’ [Off]

A bit more on the deep tip, I love the vocals used in this track, amazing.

Gorge, ‘Erotic Soul ft. The Writers Project’ [8Bit]

Another deep track, 8Bit always put out the quality jams.

Bleep District, ‘Don’t Stop Now (Giom Remix)’ [Lost My Dog]

Giom! What can I say, I love everything this guy is doing, solid remix.

South Of Roosevelt, ‘Everybody Loves’ [Flapjack]

I have been banging this out since Miami. Always goes down well, nice piano, nice jazz feel. I always slot this tune in my DJ sets.
