Weekend Weapons…Satoshi Tomiie

Saw Recordings’ boss Satoshi Tomiie [a] has contributed to house music in many ways, but without a doubt, it was his groundbreaking releases such as ‘Love In Traffic’, ‘Tears’, and ‘Solar Wind’ that made him an American house music hero.

It is Satoshi’s commitment and consistency to the darker side of house music, that has earned him a ever-growing army of fans. His recent <h4>mix of Mes ‘Back To Basics’ is a prime example of the kind of deep electronic house he has made and played since the 1990s.

But he isn’t stuck in the past either, as this group of future leaning Weekend Weapons prove.

Freaks ‘UMakeNoSense’ [Crosstown Rebels]

This track is kinda simple (and making it simple is more difficult than making it complicated) with a great groove and a touch of acid. The Square waved bass introduced in the middle works really well.

Solomun ‘Boys In The Hood’ (Gorge Remix) [Diynamic]

I drop this tune to bring the energy of my set to the next level. Another simple but effective groove.

Mes ‘Back To Basics’ [Saw Recordings]

We are preparing part two of this release with Andre Lodemann and Maaban Soul Remixes. Part 1 with a Motorcitysoul remix and the original have been receiving great reaction everywhere.

Cherry ‘The World Waits’ (Ada Remix) [Four:Twenty]

Deep and hypnotic, this is such a great mood setter as well as an opener of a set.

Stimming, Ben Watt & Julia Biel ‘Bright Star’ (Sunset Mix) [Buzzin’ Fly]

This is tune of the year so far, an instant five star! It’s very hard to find a track like this nowadays.

D’Julz ‘Rotondo’ [Circus Company]

D’Julz has been dropping some amazing stuff for years. This one is slightly different but definitely has his magical touch. And it really works on the dancefloor.

Doomwork & Neuroxyde ‘Andromeda’ (2000 And One & Dj Madskillz Remix) [100% Pure]

This has a driving groove, works very well on the dancefloor and comes from four great names of the industry at the moment.

Memoryman aka Uovo ‘Got A Party’ [Tenax Recordings]

Mr. Uovo delivered a great house tune of 2010. He knows how to handle it in the right way.
