Pepsi Calvin Harris Remix Contest

Weekend Weapons: Nick Warren

Weekend Weapons: Nick Warren

Volume 18 in the Balance series is out, and this time none other than Nick Warren [a] is in the driver’s seat, turning in a powerful set of mixes that range from powerful, big-room techno to subtler, more intimate tech-house sounds.

Along with the two album-length mixes, the album bundles together full-length versions of 22 tracks from the set, including cuts from Paul Hazendonk [a], Solee [a], and Terry Lee Brown Jr.

Unsurprisingly, Warren named quite a few selections from the mix in his current Weekend Weapons; read on to hear his picks, including tunes from Eelke Kleijn, Jamie Anderson & Owain K, and the rising Russian producer Ormatie.

Ormatie, “Only” [Balance]

There is an amazingly mature head on this young Russian producer. Deep and hypnotic music, perfect to set the mood.

Eelke Kleijn, “Monkey Movin” [This Is Recordings]

This is has been destroying every club I play it in. The breakdown sends the crowd into orbit.

Jamie Anderson & Owain K, “Without Sound” [Dessous Recordings]

Great work again from this Bristol veteran, groovy tech house all the way.

Franck Orff, “Hisbiscus” [Balance]

This has a special charm to it. A true techy journey through the mind of the producer.

Victoria R, “Cosmos” [Balance]

A fantastic female talent from Argentina—her productions always work for me.

Nick Warren “Flowers (Solee Remix)” [Dig Deeper]

I am a huge fan of Solee’s work, and I was over the moon with this remix of my track.
