Celebrating the release of their new Endangered EP on Plus 8, Layo & Bushwacka! share with us a short-but-sweet list of the records they’re feeling at the moment.

If it surprised you to see the UK tech-house duo turning up on Plus 8 Records, well, this list might catch you off guard as well. Along with more straight-ahead cuts from Simon Baker and themselves, they veer into left field via The XX, Apparat, and man-of-the-moment Nicolas Jaar.

Simon Baker, “Too Slow (Radio Slave Panorama Bar Remix)” [2020 Vision Recordings]

Always great grooves and production with Radio Slave, but we like the darker, more “off” feel of this.

The XX, “VCR (Four Tet Remix)” [Young Turks]

Four Tet is a unique artist and this is a really good remix of the band, vocals sit so well.

Masomenos, “Sansula” [WTM]

Again, soft, druggy, spacey, a bit out there, all the good ingredients.

Layo & Bushwacka! “Black Jackrabbit” [Plus 8]

Is this bad protocol to include your own? Well, life’s too short… Great to make this kind of techno, really tears up the dance floor.

Azari & III, “Into the Night (Nicolas Jaar Remix)” [Turbo]

Such a good producer, beautiful feel to all his music.

Apparat, “King of Clubs” [Monkeytown Records]

More a DJ tool the way we use it when playing, but really like the feel of the music.
