Weekend Weapons: Interface

Weekend Weapons: Interface

Bristol drum ‘n’ bass producer Interface has proven to be a man of many talents. He’s managed a catalog that provides as many floor-focused rippers like ”Desperate Measures” as deep and emotive material like ”Fallen Angels.” His exploits have landed him DJ slots at summer festival and appearances on BBC’s 1Xtra. Having the opportunity to peek inside his favorites playlist for our readers to pore over is something we couldn’t turn down. Check below for his unique list of picks.

Joker & Rustie - Light Years Popsicle

This one smashed it for me on NYE. Massive trancey synth chords; a wicked, almost dancehall-esque groove. Epic riddim from two of UK dance music’s most interesting minds.

Interface - Desperate Measures

Side to my new release on Shogun Audio, and it’s the more dancefloor-friendly of the release. Epic tribal intro, swinging beats, fizzy gliding subs and a small snippet of one of my biggest heroes, and favorite voices of all time… Sir David Attenborourgh!

Die and Break feat Fats and Buggsy - Pace and Dub

Big tune coming straight outta Bristol. Die and Break with the unmistakable voice of MC Fats on a proper dubwise tip. The video version includes a wicked version from the very talented Buggsy and makes me proud to be a Bristol resident. Pure vibes.

TC - New Style

DnB meets moombahton! This one always goes off in the clubs, especially the build-up. Sometimes crowds don’t get the drop but I really like it. TC’s production as usual is ridiculously heavy on this one!

Critical Impact - Only Girl

Critical Impact_Only girl_Clearskyz recordings by Critical Impact

Classic Bristol roller! I could have picked one of any of about five wicked rollers from Critical Impact that I am currently drawing for in my sets, but this is the only one around to stream online at the moment. This one forthcoming Clearskyz Recordings some time this year.

Skeptical and Dub Phizix feat Strategy - Marka

If you ain’t heard this or seen the vid… where have you been? This tune is massive! Loved it as soon as I heard it. The addition of a really cool video that spread like wildfire on Facebook and Twitter has made this tune an instant floor-filler. I look forward to hearing more where this came from. A breath of fresh air!
