Weekend Weapons…Heatbeat

Argentinean trance duo Heatbeat [a] may be young - Agustin Servente is 22 and Matias Faint is 23 - but that hasn’t stopped them from winning the support of some of the world’s biggest DJs including Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, and Paul van Dyk.

Their productions have landed on some of trance’s most important labels including Armada, Maelstrom, Vandit, and El Salvador’s Istmo Music, and despite being from a country with a rich house music history, they’ve managed to build a large homegrown following.

Most recently they collaborated with American trance DJ Randy Boyer after a deck-sharing set at Istmo Music Fest in April. “The idea of working with Randy came up when we received news that we were going to share the decks,” says Agustin. “We were always in touch via the internet with Randy, so we thought it would be a good opportunity to work with him personally.

“We always felt like we were in sync, and that proved to be the case - we finished the track in just two days, and the result is ‘Happy Ending’, a track that you have to play when the crowd needs a big shake!”

With Heatbeat’s international profile continue to grow fast, we decided to ask Agustin and Matias to reveal their current top five dancefloor bombs.

HeatBoyer ‘Happy Ending’

Heatbeat and Randy Boyer’s collaboration ‘Happy Ending’ is the pair’s biggest DJ weapon currently. Matias says, “Well it’s useless to say that this is our favorite track of the moment, as it cannot miss a single one of our sets!”

Rank 1 ‘Symfo’

Trance heroes Rank 1 are back with another summer anthem. Agustin reckons ‘Symfo’ is “a very good track with lots of strength. We love dramatic melodies, and you can see that in our productions such as ‘Paradise Garage’ and ‘Vergatron’. This is similarly epic.”

Stacker & Detune ‘Rosary’

Matias says their Heatbeat remix of Stacker & Detune’s ‘Rosary’ has been their festival smasher this summer. “It’s our previous collaboration and we baptized it Istmo Music Festival’s theme song. We never get tired of playing it,” he says.

Sean Tyas ‘Seven Weeks’

Agustin loves Sean Tyas’ new ‘Seven Weeks’. He says, “Tyas once again proves that he is truly one of the best producers out there with this amazing track, and he also shows great versatility on this one.”

Count Sinca ‘Space Cow’ (Exit Remix)

“This is big remix of Count Sinca’s ‘Space Cow’ from the Exit guys,” says Matias. “Asides from them being our good friends, they are great producers from Argentina and they demonstrate that with this outstanding work.”
