Watergate: Berlin’s hotspot
11 May, 2008 | 7.10AM- Section: Music News Topics: Beatport Blog
Boldly self-professed as “the hottest of hotspots in Berlin”, Watergate nightclub has established a solid following in clubland and is known for housing top-notch acts and quality electronic music in the Berlin scene.
Boasting an LED lighting system that spans across the dancefloor’s ceiling along with huge windows that overlook the Spree River, this club has gained a reputation for hosting some of the most talented names in the industry.
In the interview that follows, Steffen and Uli — the forces behind Watergate — discuss the evolution and current state of the Berlin music scene, what it means to push the boundaries of the club scene, their featured acts and selective door policies.
