Want big room techno? Check Phunk Investigation

Big room techno seems to be a burgeoning movement at the moment and Phunk Investigation’s album ‘Outrage’ shows why.

With 14 tracks of no nonsense, DJ friendly techno produced by Italians Stefano Silvestri and Dino Maggiorana (the artists behind the 2001 house anthem ‘Flawless’ by The Ones’), ‘Outrage’ sounds like the love child of Popof and Mark Knight and its energy is highly infectious.

The drive of ‘Outrage’ is relentless. However it was never designed for a chin stroke session at home but rather as a box of tools for big room DJs to pick from and there’s beauty in that honesty.

Filled with dark throbbing techno beats, huge breakdowns, monster basslines and warped vocals, ‘Outrage’ glistens with the kind of youthful vibrancy that dance music needs.

It’s hard to play favourites with the album, as every track is uptempo and designed for moving great swathes of people, yet each of the 14 cuts are distinct enough to be considered on their own.

All in all, this is one powerful combo of mainroom haymakers.
