A man with a very worn down chin uploaded this video to YouTube that shows where Daft Punk, Alan Braxe, Thomas Bangalter et al got the samples for their chart smashing French house hits.

Cassius, Stardust, Modjo, Daft Punk - they’re all included in this enlightening musical history investigation.

What many people might not realise, is that all these samples were actually cleared for use by the original artists and record labels and so were not used without permission.

Even so, it’s still staggering to hear that many of the genre’s greatest anthems were actually based on old disco and pop classics.

In 20 years will the anthems of our generation be recycled quite so brilliantly?
