Video: The Bloody Beetroots & Steve Aoki ‘Warp’
16 April, 2009 | 7.49AMDim Mak, the influential independent label run by Los Angeles indie dance ambassador Steve Aoki, has now hit Beatport and the label’s first release is a Aoki collaboration with The Bloody Beetroots called ‘Warp’. It’s absolutely fabulous!
Here is the tastefully executed video for ‘Warp’, that depicts a group of ravers raving in slow motion, with Aoki getting lairy on the mic.
Steve Aoki is currently Beatport’s knight in shining day glow armour, because during WMC he saved the day by playing a set at our pool party at the last minute after a scheduled Tiga was taken ill.
Not only did Steve swoop in gracefully with his long hair flowing in the sea breeze like a Viking warrior, he also smashed it and played one of the best sets of the pool party.
When ‘Warp’ dropped in the middle of his set, it sounded like the machinations of a ruling elite alien race had been given its own anthem.
This is gnarly, brash, electro-fueled indie, but it’s also balanced beautifully by serene melodic moments. If you’re looking for something more melodic and less disruptive ‘Warp 7.7’ is just the ticket.
