Video: Kris Menace’s favourite synths
11 July, 2009 | 8.55AMThe ever excellent Future Music visited the studio of French house hero Kris Menace
recently, and in this video he reveals where he gets some of his famous synth sounds from.
The French house sound, if anything, is built around warm and large synth sounds that come from instruments like the Juno 106, Yamaha CS1X and the Roland Jupiter 8 (all featured in the video).
Such larger-than-life synth sounds can be heard in Kris Menace’s latest remixes.
His brilliant 1980s new wave inspired remix of Royksopp ‘The Girl And The Robot’ is full of analogue warmth, and it’s one of the best remixes I’ve ever heard of the Norwegian band.

Scott Hardkiss ‘You’re The Star’ (Kris Menace Remix)
Kris Menace’s new remix of Scott Hardkiss ‘You’re The Star’ also sails proudly through a sea of synthesized pads, with multiple lines interlocking to create a tasty slow burning disco treat.
