Video: Innovative Japanese beats for skaters

Tokyo’s professional skater and a video director Takahiro Morita has just released his latest and longest project on DVD.

Here’s the official trailer of this project called “Overground Broadcasting.”

The video features exclusive tracks produced by artists like DJ Baku, O.N.O. (Tha Blue Herb), DJ Quietstorm, Juzu aka Moochy and many others who are mostly his personal friends especially for this project.

Their driving beats definitely add a unique dimension to his visual presentation of the best skating performances from all over Japan and many other countries abroad.

Morita, who also appears in the video as a skater, has a lot of experience in working with both music and skateboards.

He has shot and directed videos for an extremely popular Japanese hip-hop group called Tha Blue Herb, and have been releasing a series of skate videos as well.

However, this particular project is a special one that he spent eight years making.

He has saved all the best moments he shot during this time, and he traveled around the world to share the pleasures and excitement of skateboarding. 

The DVD and also a double CD soundtrack are now available in Japan - so you can skate to the music yourself, if you like.
