Video: Helge Kuhl ‘Autumnbomb’
3 April, 2009 | 8.01AMRespected Cologne-based techno label Traum
last week launched a brand new label called Paintwork, aimed at portraying the more poppy side of techno.
Here is the video for their first release Helge Kuhl ‘Autumnbomb’, which was filmed over four days at 4am each morning in Cologne.
Apparently the film crew experienced all sorts of problems making the video, including injuries and hospital trips, but director Kai Harnisch still managed to pull it all together with a lonely taxi-driven ride through the city.
‘Autumnbomb’ interestingly sits in between melodic minimal techno and the kind of electro-pop stylings of Gui Boratto
.
On the EP, Helge Kuhl also drops a clever hypnotic techno cut called ‘Evolution’ that features all sorts of wacky animal noises, and a soulful techno record ‘K. Ping’. Together they represent an interesting, more mainstream angle for the Traumschallplatten family.
