Video: Cobblestone Jazz set @ Dissonanze festival

Cobblestone Jazz cooked up the most aurally stimulating, original, hypnotic, warm, thumping set you could possibly image at the Dissonanze festival - it was perhaps even better than Booka Shade’s.
Let my cameraman Vlad “The Mic” Impaler take you on a journey across the Dissonanze dance floor - a place where your eyes and ears will melt with pleasure.
Cobblestone Jazz redefined techno for me with this set.
What struck you about it most was how warm it sounded.
The beats were thick and compressed and they pulsated out of the speakers through what must have been a whole stack of tube limiters and outboard.
Because the high frequencies were smoothed off, the bass underneath really hit you hard.
It was so dynamic.
A sea of mid- and low-range bubbled away, through which high-pitched sounds erupted - things that would normally damage your ears but on this occasion didn’t because of the quality of the sound set-up.
Cobblestone must have been using Ableton Live - they had tons of weird, synced-up sounds and preset effects that they would screw around with like the seasoned pros that they are.
If you didn’t go to Dissonanze you’d better pray they release a mix of this set.
