Video: Adam Beyer’s top tracks

Beatportal forced Swedish techno DJ Adam Beyer to get his laptop out and pick his top tracks of the moment exclusively for you guys.

After going through his upfront inbox, Adam chose four records as his current big tracks, and then he played and dissected each one for us on camera.

The four tracks he chose were all unreleased gems, but will hit the streets in the next couple of months.

1. Steve Lawler & Alex Tepper ‘Doves’ [Drumcode]

UK DJ and producer Steve Lawler got in touch with Adam and sent over this twisted dark techno track. ‘Doves’ represents Lawler’s new moves into techno.

2. Timo Maas ‘Subtellite’ [Cocoon]

‘Subtellite’ sees German producer Timo Maas return to centre stage. The track is built around an aggressive, repetitive techno loop, but Timo weaves Spanish guitars, congos, bongs and white noise into the mix creating an absolute monster of a track.

3. Marco Corola ‘Bloody Cash’ [Plus 8]

Marco Corola drops a cute melodic techno track with a funky organ lead line and tribal loops. Tribal sounds seem to be coming back into techno right now.

4. Joey Beltram ‘Scorpio’ [Drumcode]

New York City techno legend Joey Beltram will soon drop a nasty, rave track on Adam’s Drumcode called ‘Scorpio’. The bassline is driving and progressive, but the loops are very much techno.

It sounds like complete nonsense - get ready for one of the biggest breakdowns of the year.
