Underworld to go Wild In The Country

Underworld will play a special set at Renaissance’s Wild In The Country festival in June, in what will be the British band’s only UK festival appearance of 2007.

Wild In The Country’s surprise headliners have given Renaissance’s event yet more kudos, and have given clubbers even more reason to attend the boutique festival at Knebworth Park in Hertfordshire on 30th June.

“The combination of Renaissance’s 15th anniversary celebrations and the line-up they have put together for the event makes this a truly irresistible night for us,” said Underworld’s Karl Hyde.

“We’re honoured to be a part of it,” continued band mate Rick Smith.

Underworld have now joined a line-up that includes prog heavyweights Sasha & Digweed, minimal champions Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Damian Lazarus and Mathew Jonson, and Belgian mash-up heroes 2manyDJs.

Hot Chip, Erol Alkan, Filthy Dukes and Beatportal favourites Simian Mobile Disco will also play at the 15th anniversary bash.

The festival however, still hasn’t been granted its license yet, so pray it comes through.
