Ultraviolence
Ultraviolence (Vitalic Remix)
Heartsrevolution [Kitsune]
19 January, 2009 | 2.53AMWhat’s happened to Vitalic
since ‘OKCowboy?’ Seriously. This seminal album was released nearly four years ago, and will undoubtedly stand the test of time as being one of the most devastating and dynamic electronic albums of the 21st century.
For the past few years we have been teased and taunted with a live album and a few choice remixes from this electro-uber-God, this remix being a prime example of cutting French electro house.
More removed from the likes of ‘La Rock’ and ‘Poney’ which brought him to the peak of his success, this track is far more moody, downbeat and progressive.
Having lived through the post modern ‘nu-rave’ fad created by a bunch of bored Shoreditch kids, Vitalic is now producing in a world that is ‘post-Klaxons’, and in this track you can hear elements of Simian Mobile Disco
and a bass lick that wouldn’t go a miss in a Justice
track.
But ultimately it still comes across as being Vitalic, and for those of you pining for something new, this will satisfy your hunger.
