This is a very moody EP.
If you’re the kind of alley cat who likes to skulk in dark corners and rummage in skips for your next fishbone, then this trio of ‘U Don’t Lost It’ mixes will be right up your street.
We like the Original Mix a lot – it’s unnervingly dark.
The pads are raw, rotten and abrasive, whilst the freaky, cyborg-like, detuned bleeps give the piece a cold, digital edge that’ll have you reaching for your replicant blaster in seconds.
According to one of the Beatportal writers’ older brothers, it sounds like “the last level of some horrible ZX Spectrum game”. Word!
The Virus Partysquad Mix is a similar “I’m lost in the forest, with no breadcrumbs to make a trail out, whilst being hunted by a duck that’s snapping its beak and coming closer and closer – you just know you’re going to die” affair.
It’s dark, hypnotic, intoxicating fun.
Whilst the final Cute Heels Remix is also dirty, with ghostly pads haunting the background and soulless computer arpeggiators filtering through.
It’s a bit more mellow and should just see you out the other end of this EP with your mental health intact.
