Forget chocolate eggs and Church, Easter Sunday is all about drum & bass
20 March, 2007 | 1.45PM- Section: Music News
Whilst most people will be celebrating Easter Sunday by eating chocolate eggs, or God forbid, a Church service, a few hundred clubbers in London will be getting down to the grimmest, nastiest basslines dance music has to offer.
Turnmills in London, who clearly isn’t an advocate of traditional religious values, is putting on a drum & bass night on Sunday 8th April of the highest order.
With a line-up that’s full of the biggest names in d&b, Andy C, Dillinja, Fabio, Patife, LTJ Bukem, Krust, Randall, Storm, Doc Scott and Kenny Ken, it’s expected hundreds of clubbers will turn out.
Preaching on the night will be MCs GQ, Dynamite, Conrad, Cleveland Watkiss, Fats, Wrec, Stirlin, Bassman, Rage, Man Parris and Ryme Time, although don’t expect any dulcet tones – think more rewind, drop, and ‘oi oi’.
The night is called ‘Primal’, although presumably this is nothing to do with Turnmills’ rejection of religion by supporting Darwin’s theory of evolution.
Rather it’s because when you leave, you’ll probably look a bit like a monkey.
Just what would the vicar say? Who cares?
