Turbo Recordings to drop ‘Sunglasses at Night 2008’

Electro kingpin Tiga [a] celebrates Turbo Recordings [l] label’s 10-year anniversary with a bevy of musical delights, including the re-release of his infamous ‘Sunglasses At Night’ collaboration with Zyntherius [a] from 2002.

For something that he initially wasn’t thrilled with, ‘Sunglasses At Night’ burgeoned to become “one of the electro anthems of the period,” Tiga recalls.

“I got to ride my own coattails to where I am now. All my dreams came true.”

‘Sunglasses at Night 2008’ will be unveiled on July 14th, and is to be mixed and flipped by Alter Ego, Black Devil, D.I.M, Popof and Konrad Black.

Additionally, Turbo’s new ‘Omnidance’ album is due to drop in September, featuring exclusive material from not only Tiga but also Boys Noise, Chromeo, Proxy and friends.

But wait, there’s more.

If that isn’t enough, Tiga and Turbo Recordings are also currently in the midst of a 35-date world tour which will finish up at a secret warehouse location in London on August 23rd.

And there’s also a bi-weekly podcast, featuring new material from Turbo’s core artists and friends, that will be available throughout the rest of the tour.

Tiga is also no slacker when it comes to environmental concerns.

Having done his homework, he found that his international air travel has a massive carbon footprint so, taking Richie Hawtin’s lead, he has decided to support the German Atmosfair, which will offset his carbon output by 100%, making it a very eco-friendly tour.

Right on, ride on.

Check out a video of the original, Corey Hart version of ‘Sunglasses at Night’ and compare it to Tiga and Zyntherius’ slithery, synthy rework in the videos below.
