Turbo Omnidance PanAmerican Tour - Part 2
Turbo Omnidance PanAmerican Tour - Part 2
8 May, 2008 | 9.04AMA week into the Omnidance Tour of North America, Von Party and Walsh can barely hear and DIM is tearing it up alone in Orlando. Three days rest mean a serious email catch up, comforting detox food and some summer weather football practice before the next gigs in Chicago on Thurs, followed by New York Friday and Montreal Saturday.

Last Thursday Turbo hit The Marquee Club, Halifax where the young ravers were not scared to invade the stage and bounce to the beat of DIM’s arm thrusting. A full on set from Walsh and Von Party after the residents allowed the DIM show to raise the roof. Highlights of the night included:
Thomas Banglater - Spinal Scratch
Jamie Lidell - A little bit of feel good (Mr Oizo Mix)
Crookers - Love To Edit

An early flight to Toronto and a serious lack of sleep led to a well deserved afternoon pizza and nap before heading down to support Tiga at Circa. The 2000 capacity club filled up pretty quick and alongside the in-house entertainment Von Party and Walsh’s early techno had the floor grooving. Early hits included songs by Padded Cell, Joakim and Worthy. DIM stepped up for an hour’s onslaught of his trademark noise before label boss Tiga blew the jammed dance floor away. Out of his box came everything from unheard album bombs, remixes from the label and even the Vitalic mix of A Number of Names to relive the electro clash era from whence he gained his adulation.

The Final gig of the week, again with the guys supporting Tiga, was at Le Cercle, Quebec City. The real turbo fans had hit the town, the merch stall going crazy and the whole Turbo crew was out in force.

Walsh and Von Party had a chance to build the crowd from the start, debuting Matt’s Clouded Vision Mix of Moby and some lighter than usual techno. DIM unleashed his array of productions and led the way for the main man. Tiga arrived and blew the crowd away with tracks from The Glimmers, Alter Ego and 3 new bombs causing the fans to bombard the booth with their cell phones aloft “What The F***k is this? I want it I want it!
Tunes of the night:
Rainer Werner Bass finder - Minimal Scarf Fuckers Drown!
Tiga - Beep Beep Beep
Glimmers - I’d Much Rather Go (Out With The Boys)
