Often a good track can just be about one single distinctive noise, and The Mountain People’s ‘Mountain 003’ has this cool Latino castanet hit every so often which gives the song a real sexy, Carnival-esque feeling.

Good programming by the Swiss duo The Mountain People ensures that the dancefloor is kept guessing about when that groovy castanet sound comes back - sometimes it’s a regular loop, at other times not.

And if your mind is kept guessing, that’s when you lose yourself in the music.

All the South American-inclined house and minimal DJs have been playing ‘Moutain 003’ including Luciano and Villalobos.
