Franck Roger’s Deeply Rooted House seems perfectly aligned to capitalize on the current resurgence of the European deep house scene.

The label that has taken in the minimalist sensibilities of Argy and the US house stylings of Kerri Chandler on its previous two releases is a fine example of the current cross-pollination of genres.

Crowdpleaser and Ly Sander lean in a more European direction on ‘Jupiter’.

The track has a Border Community style blend of melody and experimental glitchiness, in that neo trance meets house kind of fashion.

Flashes of white noise brilliance overwhelm the stuttered melodies for those hands skyward moments, although what is a mainly tasty dance floor treat is let down by some questionable synth action in places.

‘Work It’ by Swedish/UK duo Wipe The Needle simply does not work, as there is no notable groove to pin down the overly busy range of sounds.

The whole thing, although well produced, descends into a bit of a melodic mess. 

Manoo’s ‘Joparish’, on the other hand, benefits greatly from a more simplistic approach.

The relationship between the slinky percussion and the heavy, low-slung bass is more than enough to carry the weight of the track’s overall groove and flow.

A brief section reminiscent of some early Underworld synth work only sweetens the deal further.
