Luke Abbott: Trans Forest Alignment
Luke Abbott: Trans Forest Alignment
24 January, 2011 | 1.23AMLuke Abbott and Dan Tombs view the world through rose-tinted glasses in the video for Abbott’s new single, “Trans Forest Alignment.”
The visuals were inspired by the color-separation techniques used in a 1979 short film by amateur cinematographer J. Ron Chapman, “The Magic Sea,” which also provided the colourful still that adorns the cover of Abbott’s Holkham Drones; the images were filmed on the album’s namesake Holkham beach in Norfolk and along the coast in Cromer.
“Trans Forest Alignment” is one of the centerpiece tracks on last year’s astonishing Holkham Drones, for Border Community
; now it’s out as a single, featuring mindbending remixes from Gavin Russom (aka Black Meteoric Star) and RocketNumberNine, a new duo signed to Four Tet’s Text Records.
