Total Science are the combined production outlet of Q Project and Spinback. Collectively they’ve been pumping out drum & bass floor fillers for over 20 years, with their biggest hit, ”Champion Sound” being one of the scene’s most defining records.

With their new “Ghostriders” EP dropping on CIA Recordings this week, we caught up with the pair of junglists to see what’s steaming up their sets and getting the most rewinds.

Hazard, “Proteus” [Playaz]

Hazard has always been an impressive producer and seems to have hit a rich vein of form again. The 12” is great, in fact, but “Proteus” is a complex affair that perfectly walks the line of supreme studio ability and raw dancefloor power.

Marcus Intalex & S.P.Y., “Celestial Navigation” [Soul:R]

You fall in love with this track from the first Detroit-tinged note, and it just keeps on getting better and better. It’s deep as a mole’s rectum but has so much emotional energy that it has been a must in our current playlist for some time.

Total Science & S.P.Y, “Magic Hour” [CIA Recordings]

We’re obviously caning the whole “Ghostrider” EP, but “Magic Hour” has been getting the most rewinds, that is all.

Enei, “Slow Motion” [CIA Recordings]

We are loving the output of Russia’s man of the moment, Enei, and he comes up trumps again with this teched-out roller, which always gets a great reaction on the dancefloor. Can see this being an integral part of our sets for some time to come!

Total Science feat Riya, “Redlines (Break Remix)” [Critical Records]

This one came out last year, but it’s still a firm favourite in our sets. Break took our musical roller and delivered a dancerfloor smasher. Lush intro with dubbed-out guitars and sweet Rhodes which builds up nicely before all hell breaks loose on the drop. Amens, trademark breakbeat edits, and a naughty bassline make for one hell of a remix.
