Top Trance Release: Marcel Woods ‘Beautiful Mind 08’

Earlier this year, Dutch trancer Marcel Woods became the first artist to headline both Sensation White and (the harder trance event) Sensation Black in one season.

His ability to adapt his sets to suit both events proves his understanding of the versatility in modern trance music. 

Although his rework of Three Drives’ ‘Greece 2000’ earlier this year wasn’t overly well received, he’s giving it another go, only this time he’s taken to remixing his own production with ‘Beautiful Mind 08’.

Originally released in May 2005, ‘Beautiful Mind’ has been updated with a more tech-y sound, reinstating Marcel’s position among tech-trancers Sander van Doorn and Marco V.

He accentuates the build up – making for an even better breakdown – and makes the record more atmospheric by adding an echo to the already haunting vocals.

A track which has always been perfect for a late night set, this time it’s darker and filthier, but he’s still managed to embrace that acoustic sound (which every other trance artist seems to be hammering at the moment), with the introduction of a violin.

Reworks are always a safe option for filling a dance floor – people love to dance off their energy to a tune they know well.
