Aeroplane have been lurking beneath the crest of a huge wave in the nu disco ocean for some time now.

With this moody disco crawler (and only their third 12”), featuring vocals from nu disco ‘it’ girl Kathy Diamond, they sting like a ray.

Like Film Noir for disco, the crux of this track betrays shadowy dealings of betrayal, mistrust and paranoia, yet the music makes you gyrate, groove and swagger like no one cheated on you.

It’s like being stroked with a feather and then being stung to death by a swarm of killer bees.  Emo disco has landed.

Hercules & Love Affair mix bring things down with a retro lo-fi house mix and some sub aqua sounds and vocal distortions but the original mix is where it’s at.

If this is the type of moves Aeroplane have got, the arrival of their album in 2008 is something to be getting excited about, like yesterday.
