Top Track: Freaky Disco ‘Peep Show’ feat. Dair

Wiggle [l] is one of the world’s longest running club nights - amazingly Nathan Coles, Terry Francis and Eddie Richards have been running their tech house party since 1994.

I knew this bloke called Dave once (true story), who used to DJ in the back room of the early Wiggle parties and he used to drop dub reggae mixed with bizarre sound effects (like motor vehicle noises and children’s laughter) to “freak people out”.

Anyway, Wiggle has come a long way since then - it’s been hosted at London’s premier underground club Fabric since 1999, which makes it one of the most consistent club events in the world.

But as a record label Wiggle’s output has been much less frenetic - it’s been almost two years since they released Dexter’s ‘Wino Man’.

Now the label is back with a tech house bomb that perfectly defines what tech house, Fabric’s Room 2 and Wiggle is all about.

Freaky Disco [a] ‘Peep Show’ features a superb wonky house bassline, an uptempo rhythm and an excellent female vocal, coupled with plenty of strange sound effects and vocal snippets.

It’s not quite house, it’s not quite techno, and with the rap-like female vocal it sounds quite booty, quite ghetto-tech.

Whatever it is, Beatportal loves it. More please.
