Top Track: ‘Days like These’

Patrick Chardronnet [Poker Flat]

The Poker Flat [l] Tournament presents Patrick Chardronnet vs. David Durango, who recently released this 2-track EP, which is one of the best I’ve heard in this genre for a while.

The producers have done an exacting job to create a full journey through their music.

‘Days Like These’ by Patrick Chardronnet [a] is a smooth track with nice synth stabs and rhythms that carry on throughout the entire song.

It is arranged with precision and each part of the song follows in logical and satisfying progression.

Imagine a day at the beach, sipping mojitos with your closest friends.

‘Days Like These’ is a nice sultry tune for swaggering to, or lounging around with.

With tracks like this one in the background your day would be sure to be a nice one.

‘Move with Me’ by David Durango is more heady and takes one onto the dancefloor to move, as the title so aptly suggests.

Anxiety-provoking intricate arrangements of percussion paired with delays and reverb washes are followed by a melody that endures during the entire track.

By mid-track some classical keys (reminiscent of Octave One’s ‘Blackwater’) come in, and an ultra-sexy vocal is added, which lays on the sensual vibe.

For the second half of the track a very sweeping long synth is introduced, which further turns up the heat.

This one is a track that can be revisited time and time again.
