Beatportal can only think of three or four names in the trance DJ world that are as recognized as Christopher Lawrence. 

But when you look into his background and accomplishments it’s easy to understand why.

Christopher has been playing records for packed dancefloors since 1993, racking up over a quarter of a million frequent flier miles every year; and while this is more than impressive, it is not just his DJing that has earned him his stripes. 

He also has a radio show called Rush Hour, has been featured on countless magazine covers, has sold over a quarter of a million mix CDs, and gets his productions on the playlists of the likes of Paul van Dyk, Tiesto, and Paul Oakenfold.  His name truly permeates every facet of the trance subculture.

Clearly, the American public agrees this is deserved and wants more. After 35,000 votes were cast, Christopher was awarded the title of ‘America’s Best DJ’ in the Best American DJ poll for 2008.

And it couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. Christopher’s unfailingly polite disposition, love for his fans, and high-energy, club-friendly progressive house and trance have kept him adored by his oldest followers as well as endured him to the newest of dance music enthusiasts year after year.

He has furnished Beatport with a list of his current favorite tunes: surely a recommendation list that’s as good as gold.
