Top 100 Tracks of 2010: #30-11

We’re getting down to brass tacks. Today is day four of our weeklong countdown of the top 100 tracks of 2010, and the air is getting thinner as we move towards the top slot.

These tracks are the 100 tunes that turned up most frequently in the thousands of DJ charts submitted to Beatport this year; we’ve sifted and sorted and collated in the effort to determine which tracks, statistically speaking, ranked highest in the DJ community.

We noted earlier how tech house dominated 2010, and you’ll see that especially here, in the top 30. Aside from a smattering of progressive and electro-house stylings, positions 30 through 11 are all about cool, linear grooves, controlled funk, and just enough riffage to make clubbers turn their heads.

Another notable detail might be the prominence of newcomers as we reach the top 10: Maya Jane Coles, Ardalan, Art Department, and Nicolas Jaar all emerged seemingly out of the ether in the past year or so, but they all made a huge impact in 2010, and they all appear here—as do Kaiserdisco, who continued their remarkable rise of the past two years--alongside more established names like Tim Green (who turns up twice), Davide Squillace, and Radio Slave, plus veterans Cassius and Kenny Larkin.
