France officially recognised Dimitri From Paris’ contribution to music by awarding him a Knight of the Arts and Letters in February 2005, so intrinsic has he been to the country’s development of house music.

Dimitri uploaded his first ever DJ chart to Beatport this week, and it shows how the award-winning producer, remixer and DJ is firmly rooted in ‘70s funk and disco. He loves uplifting soulful vocal house music and listening to it just makes you want to break out the flares and roll on down to the roller disco.

Topping Dimitri From Paris’ DJ chart is his own collaboration with Electra 80, a radio-friendly dance pop track called ‘Rock This Town’, which is followed by Kerri Chandler’s sexy sax-led deep house cut ‘Track 1 Revisited’.

Taking the funk influence further, Tortured Soul’s ‘Special Lady’ and Venise’s ‘Don’t Think About It’ give a sly wink, before Ralf Gum, Chuck Love and Jamie Lewis/Cerrone take it back towards a house tip.

Sitting at No.10 gracefully is Henrik Schwarz’ delicious remix of The Sunburst Band and Joey Negro’s ‘Man Of War’.
